Rameer Tawasil

Born in 1969 in Sulu, Rameer Tawasil is a painter who studied Architecture at the Western Mindanao State University from 1987 to 1992. Awards and Recognitions. 2003 Zamboanga Hermosa Recognition Award for Culture and the Arts. Tawasil grew up at the height of the Moro rebellion during the chaotic years of Martial Law. At the tender age of six, he, along with his family, hurriedly left to safety in Zamboanga City as bombs dropped and wiped out the entire downtown Jolo, the province’ capital, in 1974. Growing up at this backdrop, the young Tawasil soon sought comfort through his sculptures and sketches.

He has developed his own style in mixed media, highlighted by spontaneous bursts of embossed colors and strokes.

Danny C. Sillada

Victor "Bong" Espinosa is a seasoned veteran who has mounted solo exhibitions from Davao, Metro Manila, and U.S.A since 2006.

He has develoOn April 27, 1963, in Cateel, Davao Oriental, he was born. He is Filipino (Davaoeño) by nationality. Painting, Installation art, Performance art, Literature, Philosophy, Music, and Critical theory are some of Danny C. Sillada's most well-known works. Danny C. Sillada is a cultural critic, writer, and artist from the Philippines. Sillada has worked in a variety of mediums, including painting, music, and performance art. He received the "Pasidungog Centennial Awards" for literary and visual arts in 2003, a centennial ceremony in his hometown province of Davao Oriental that was attended by Philippine President Gloria Macapagal  Arroyo.ped his own style in mixed media, highlighted by spontaneous bursts of embossed colors and strokes.

Jester Gumanao Oani

Jester Gumanao Oani is from Lunga-og Sto. Tomas, Davao Del Norte. his father was a skilled carpenter and his mother, like some of his female siblings, is a seamstress. he witnessed his family working with fabric, metal, wood, and industrial materials. This kind of relationship with the materials of industry informs Jester’s praxis as an artist. Eventually, through hard work, Jester was able to graduate with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Mindanao (2012-2018). Among his mentors are Rogelito Cayas Jr. and Venerando Bollozos Jr. Of his path as an artist he said “Being an artist is a struggle due to the inconsistencies and economical hindrances in art production”.

 

Oani has already been featured in many remarkable exhibits since 2012. One is the 45th Shell National Student Art Exhibition in Ayala Museum Makati City where many arising artists start their professions. Others include “Bata-Bata” in SM Lanang Premiere organized under Kublai Millan. The years 2013 to 2015 were set apart by a few nearby local arts in Davao, mostly in malls, and other pragmatic spaces. The artist has also been included in exhibits at the Museo Dabawenyo (2016) and one organized by the Finale Art File Gallery in SM City Ecoland in Davao (2016). In 2019, his work was well-received in Art Blast 2019 hosted by Artasia Gallery in SM Megamall (2019).

The artist shows an epic saint charging from an open sky, his long, wild hair spilling in the breeze. Appearing to hit with lightning that issues forward from his hands and feet individuals on the ground, he is god-like in extents and unmistakable for his wonderful power. Sitting on a flying hut is a rooster with a rich plumage. "My deep interest and concern about these issues made me realize that my study needs to push through, continue, or perpetuate the meaning, values, and tradition of our indigenous people presented in the epic", says the artist.
